Medical Students and PDA's.
In the Fall of 2006, the clerkship students in the Faculty of Medicine, Dalhousie University were surveyed
regarding PDA usage, and the findings from 88 respondents were were:
- 5.6% of had all-in-one devices
They were asked to rate the usefulness of their device in each clinical rotation on a scale of
1 to 5, with 1 being the least useful and 5 being most useful:
- Surgery 2.58
- Obs/Gyn 2.71
- Family 2.19
- Psych 3.35
- Internal Medicine 2.28
- Emergency 3.74
The Faculty of Medicine, Dalhousie University has purchased 3 PDA titles that will work on Palms, PocketPCs and
Blackberries (check your models) exclusively for the Medical Students to use, and they are:
- Tarascon Pharmacopoedia
- Tabers Medical Dictionary
- Harrison’s Manual of Medicine
